the overrwhelm (O.W.)…

Yes, it’s spelt incorrectly as it really is meant to be the over-r-whelm.

We all know the overrwhelm (O.W.). It can be so strong and can sneak up on you. The smallest thing can tip you over the edge and seem to be so much worse. We all need help coping and functioning in this crazy busy world as we take on too much.

I’m no different. I’m an entrepreneur, a partner (to a super guy who pitches in wherever and however he can to our family) and a mum to two awesome actives boys – who love to eat, there’s never enough food (sorry off on a tangent). My theory on parenting is ‘there’s no real handbook and we’re all doing our best’. I’m a person who really cares about people and listening to them. We are all constantly in motion and juggling many balls trying to get through each day unscathed. Ever feel like this?

We all require expert organisational and planning skills to run our lives efficiently and to manage the O.W. and I want to share insights and break throughs I’ve found help!

So what is the O.W.? I see the O.W. everywhere:

  • we want to do it all
  • we focus on the mundane tasks that don’t matter
  • we want to make a difference with kids/family/friends/work/world/life
  • we don’t exercise enough/eat the right food
  • we want to be our adventurous other self (that voice)
  • we want to be responsible
  • we want to be well rounded and creative
  • we want to be true to ourselves
  • we worry
  • Am I right??

I have so many conversations with that voice in my mind and with so many people I come into contact with about the O.W. on a daily basis. There must be something in that – if I can share and get a conversation going, maybe others can benefit.

Life is fast and we don’t want to miss things. Getting a better grasp on the little things and managing the O.W. brings an overall calmer state that spreads to all those around you. Then everyone is better at coping and we can enjoy life and learn to live in the present. If any insight I share along the way helps even a bit, then it’s worth sharing.

Did I mention we’re on Instagram [theoverrwhelm] and I’ll happily share my visuals for dealing, coping and surviving the O.W. Can you also share your insights too?

I recently did a yoga class by my guru yoga teacher and there was magic – there’s usually magic, but this day was different. I do a Yin style yoga class a couple times per week. Yin is very gentle and restorative and you hold poses for a long time –...

Live Your Ideal Day Now… Don’t Wait…

It’s easy to say, I’ll do that later. Later can be a long time away and sometimes it’s never. What are you waiting for? I know you have things to do, people to help, places to go… Sometimes we need to stop. And you’re allowed. Lately...

Do You Want to be a Badass at Making Money?

Well who doesn’t? If you say no, I don’t believe you. I have a healthy relationship with money in that I like it and know what good it can do for me and my world and I’ve never been shy to say so. Actually when I babysat the neighbours’ kids at...

My magic trick to tell if you’re in flow?

I’m currently ‘in flow’. I’m listening to my intuition and following all the signs that lead me around and things are smooth. It’s so much easier to be in flow than to fight against everything. I haven’t always been in flow. Living...

STOP: The Art of Wellbeing

I was given the most magical book, the Art of Wellbeing, Joyous Living Inspired by Nature. It’s beautiful in its content and gorgeous drawn images that show an author who has time. Oh don’t we all dream of having time. The one thing we can’t bottle,...

All you NEED is inside YOU already!

Unhealthy obsessions with food?

I am Sh*#t at Relaxing…

Really I am. Can you relate? I tell myself I’ll schedule in a massage and sit down when I eat lunch instead of wolfing it down in the car on the way to my next stop! But I don’t usually. Sometimes I do so I tell myself ‘see you can relax.’ But...

Let Everything Naturally Fall Into Place.

And it will. Haven’t you heard that? Everything happens how it should and when it should? I love the story of the farmer who has a horse that runs away. His neighbours say what bad luck he has. The farmer replies maybe we’ll see. The horse returns with 3...

Special Guest Post by Teri Lichtenstein of www.foodbytes.com.au. Earlier this year, my son’s first month of starting school was off to a brilliant start. Within a few weeks he had a new best friend, he had not lost his school jumper (yet!) and every day he was eating...

Tame that inner voice inside our heads…

I am L O V I N G reading at the moment and can’t get enough. I’m loving podcasts and just getting more and more information into my brain. I had about 12 books next to my bed and it was a bit overwhelming so I put half of them in the bottom of my bedside table so I...

Positive Power to the People!!

Reading is dreaming with your eyes open…

Making a difference…

I’ve become obsessed with reducing waste and being aware of how much we overindulge and don’t even realise it. Grabbing a bottle of water from the cafe instead of bringing it in a reusable bottle seems crazy to me and I’ve been trying to educate my...
